WHAT WE DO
Fishtank Theatre’s mission is to nurture the development of new work and inspire theatrical entrepreurship. Material performed at the Fishtank is fresh, its content progressive, and its writers and performers embrace risk and question traditional notions of failure and success.
The Fishtank provides space to create, edit and debut ideas in workshops, performances, and professional development seminars.
PRODUCING ARTISTIC DIRECTOR HEIDI VAN
Heidi Van is an actor, creator and producer of contemporary experimental live theatre. She is the founder and Producing Artistic Director of Fishtank Theatre, a generator of new theatrical work, theatrical activism, and artist entreprenuership.
"A stalwart of the alternative theatre scene" (THE PITCH) Heidi challenges the way theatre meets its audience; installing performances in windows, on sidewalks, at prison, in a lingere shop, an abandoned church - anywhere but expected.
Recent directing credits include The Wolves (Unicorn Theatre) My Fair Lady (Musical Theatre Heritage), Elegy For A Lady (Fishtank Theatre for OPEN SPACES) Project Dawn (UNICORN THEATRE), Belfast Girls, Dry Land, Death By Shakespeare (original work) (FISHTANK THEATRE), The Cat in the Hat (COTERIE THEATRE) Motherfreakinghood! The Musical! (MOONSHINE VARIETY CO).
UPCOMING PROJECTS: Nomad Hotel (UNICORN THEATRE).
